Here’s a detailed guide for performing a clean installation of Windows 10. This process ensures your system starts fresh without retaining files, apps, or settings from the previous installation.

Step 1: Backup Your Data

Before starting, ensure you back up any essential data. A clean installation will erase everything on the drive where Windows is installed. Consider using:

  • External Drives: Save personal files, photos, and documents on an external hard drive or USB.
  • Cloud Storage: Use platforms like OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox for safe online backups.
  • Backup Software: Tools like Macrium Reflect or Acronis True Image provide a comprehensive way to safeguard your data.

Step 2: Create a Bootable USB Drive

To install Windows 10, you’ll need a bootable USB drive. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Media Creation Tool:
  2. Create the Installation Media:
    • Choose the option “Create installation media for another PC.”
    • Select your language, edition (Windows 10 Home, Pro, etc.), and architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
    • Insert a USB drive with at least 8GB of space and follow the prompts to create the bootable drive.

Step 3: Configure Your PC to Boot from USB

  2. Choose Install Settings:
    • Select your language, time, and keyboard preferences, then click “Next.”
    • Click “Install Now” to begin.
